Having ushered in the winter months of 2011 with their “Time Drip” ep, the Los Angeles natives herald the european spring with their latest double-header. Both “Nerve Noise” and “Late Drop” once again showcase the duo’s innate ability for creating bass-heavy minimal grooves whilst impressing with their wealth of sounds and fx.

Backing up the two originals is a third digital exclusive cut “Dude Cruise.” The fluid motion of the bassline and birdcall make the perfect soundtrack to a exotic trip with SHDWPLAY.

Its been a hectic start to 2012 for Canadian duo The Junkies. Recently signed to the Bullit DJ Agency, Vincenzo and Valentino now prepare to make their debut on SCI+TEC. Earning their stripes through 10 years of playing the Toronto circuit, holding residencies at the legendary Guvernment Club and Footwork Bar, the Junkies shared the decks with many of the worlds most respected DJ’s and artists. 2009 saw the them reach out through their music and last years releases and remixes for Monique Musique, Rawthentic Music, Mindshake and Area Remote saw the partnership enjoy their most successful year to date.

As their own Local Music label goes from strength to strength and nears its fourteenth release, The Junkies kick off their own musical year with “Au Jour Le Jour” for SCI+TEC. This fresh three track selection sees the guys deliver a variety of dark, driving and funky techno in the form of “Tuco,” “Au Jour Le Jour” and “Werq This.” 2012 is set to be a huge year for The Junkies and SCI+TEC are happy to welcome them on board.

MARCOMISM

Italian duo Mattia Saviolo and Eugenio Zampieri aka. Macromism make their debut on SCI+TEC with the “Ronan Point” EP. Having first shown their talents on the “Maybe 64″ ep for Italy’s Polar Noise, a release that saw them exhibit a tougher, more minimal techno sound. 2011 saw Macromism exploring new, deeper territory and their fresh tech house found a home on Inmotion Music and Carlo Lio’s Rawthentic.

The “Groover” ep for Carlo’s label became a hit and saw Macromism featuring strongly in the sets of Loco Dice, tINI, Butch and of course, Dubfire. We welcome the boys to SCI+TEC with their latest brace of tracks. Title track “Ronan Point” opens with its dark driving techno whilst on the flip “Vertical Limit” takes a housier route, adding more bounce for ya’ buck! For the digital lovers among you, Macromism also add an exclusive in the shape of the muscular, bass-heavy and driving workout, “Hip Charmer.”

Today Piemont are back with a new release on their label – Plumbum. “Komboloi“ follows their funky abstract style that is as usual beat ridden and includes a certain kind of magic in terms of rhythm and soul. In addition they have invited two top dance music acts to deliver their interpretation of the title track.

On the A-side, you find Mihalis Safras, who has become synonymous with contemporary electronic music as Mixmag once put it. He adds a techno touch to the track which makes it the perfect dance floor killer at peak time. On the flip side, Hanne & Lore, who have been associated with a number of prominent labels such as Monika Kruse’s Terminal M, Super Flu’s Monaberry & Sunset Handjob and Trapez among others, fascinate the listener with their unconventional somewhat funny remix.

All in all, another impressive release by Piemont. It can be easily said that Plumbum is aging perfectly fine.

Having closed out 2011 with an exciting debut ep from Max Cooper and the stunning Nicolas Masseyeff artist album “The Motherland,” Stephan Bodzin’s Herzblut Recordings look to continue their momentum with their first release for 2012. Who better to welcome on board than a duo who have just celebrated one of their most successful years to date, Pig&Dan and also UK Cocoon artist Mark Reeve.

A constant presence in the monthly download and DJ charts, Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan have been one of the most consistent duos for many years. With the release of their mighty 24 track double album, “Then & Now” on Yoshitoshi, one might be forgiven for wondering how Pig&Dan could possibly have had more music in locker for 2011. Yet more they did, and closed out the year with the hugely popular “Babylon” ep for Terminal M. There was also more reason to celebrate as the boys launched they’re very own label, Onolog.

Whilst renowned for their full throttle techno numbers, their latest selection for Herzblut finds Pig&Dan in a more contemplative mood. Lead cut “Pollerwiesen” is beautifully pensive. Its delicate beats and gem-like droplets of melody fuse together to create a quite stunning production. “Saturn Storm” must surely be the soundtrack to the following ‘calm.’ Super deep and meditative its hypnotic percussion dreamy melody are a joy. Pig&Dan join forces with Mark Reeve for the final track “Hallucination”. Mark, who has released on Traum Schallplatten & Cocoon, and the guys up the ante and roll out the drums. The Dub is also backed by the Original version as a digital exclusive.
