BIOGRAPHY
Born in Nice in the mid-70s, Nicolas Masseyeff, after
a childhood full of adventure,
discovers House music in the summer of 89 a time when Hip Hop and
Rock
were the dominant musical scenes. Captivated by the energy, enthralled
by the
novelty and wealth of sounds in this new method of expression, he
doesnt
hesitate to spend all his money on his disk collection Some years
later he
discovers the Rave scene, and so the story begins. In this decadent
and intriguing
universe he begins sharing his new passion with groups of young people
a passion
that continues to spread today. Starting in the early 90s Nicolas
begins to get
behind the tables mixing at some parties. Later he becomes aware of
the hold this
music has on him. It has a strong influence in his daily life, and
it doesnt take long
for it to become a dependence. Without further ado he abandons his
studies to
dedicate himself uniquely to his passion. Being resident DJ at Limelight
nights,
impeccably organized by his friend Mozart, allows for him to appear
in prestigious
places, in front of thousands of people, alongside well-known DJs
in the international
scene an opportunity for him to refine his direction of the dancefloor
and his clubbing
spirit. His musical repertoire will begin to interest a public other
than just the one of
the Clubbing culture. Seeing the wealth of his musical culture, he
will start to be
contacted for various demonstrations and inaugurations (such as the
one for
Terminal 3 of the Nice airport for example), product launches, and
fashion shows.
Owner of one of the oldest French record stores specializing in electronic
music
(open since 1993), this shop is a gold mine for all music amateurs,
of "Lounge" to
experimental music. The musical culture of Nico V. proves itself therefore
to be very
rich and varied. He starts to get booked for shows internationally,
such as in Italy,
Australia, and Germany for big events such as the anniversary of the
famous German
Midnight House Radio Show where more than 120 000 listeners were able
to appreciate
his music on the air waves, or the well-known Fringe Festival of Australia
